Are you considering DOWNSIZING?
Welcome to my club!
Let me help you Step by Step. (see video far below)
Let's cover the basics. What is your actual reason?
- “Empty nest” syndrome?
Here are a few things I recommend considering as you contemplate moving to a smaller home.
“Very important: your future lifestyle. Focus on how you want to live. There are more and more people who are ready to move to exchange the worry and difficulty of maintaining a large property for the luxury of low maintenance and the opportunity for more leisure time.”
On one hand – they are ready – on the other – they just can’t make that move. Emotional ties to the family home are one of the main barriers to downsizing, but equally, deciding on where to move to, and what style of property will best suit, can be just as daunting a prospect.
That is when I, Alla Tchouiko (Broker of Record/Owner of Alto Realty Inc.) come to the rescue. The first step is simple – to talk. I visit you, no obligation, and no contract – just a talk. I will be happy and honored to listen to your situation, to best understand your pros and cons, and of course to be able to assist step by step.
I offer to show you a few properties/areas/communities which will suit your needs/dreams. first online and then of course we will visit a few of them.
Then I suggest companies, which will look after decluttering/emptying the “nest”, repainting the current house (if needed) staging it, and making it look and feel its best. We do need to get the maximum price for your home, don’t we? By the way – the same companies will unpack you, and help you to settle in your new home.
Only after you are comfortable with the places you will move to – we start selling the current and buying the next property. Keywords: only after. That is totally my work and I take pride in a job well done!
Additional tip (one of many):
During the downsizing process, you may be surprised at how attached you have become to your possessions and how difficult it might seem to part with them. A good tip is to start getting rid of your items a few months before your move, so donate, recycle, sell, and give away some of those items you really don’t need anymore. This will make the move much easier and your smaller home less cluttered. if you are really attached to some of the items they recommend taking pictures of them and that will be your best memory.
Decorators recommend sketching floor plans for your new home to see where all your current furniture will fit. You shouldn’t wait until you move in to discover that there’s just no room for that armoire or extra stools.
Do you know that there are few properties within less than 30-45 minutes from HWY 400/Steeles, which you can buy for $400,000- $950,000? Would that budget suit your needs/wants?
